Indoor and outdoor world record holder in the 1500m, Dibaba is also a five-time indoor world champion (twice in the 1500m and three times in the 3000m).
Though she came off second best against Kenyan rival Hellen Obiri in the 3000m in Doha, Dibaba will no doubt be eyeing the meeting record when she lines up in the 1500m in Rabat, a mark which has not been topped since Dawit Seyaum’s 3:59.53 in 2014.
She will nonetheless face tough competition from the likes of USATF star Jennifer Simpson, who won silver at the IAAF World Championships in 2017 and bronze at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
