The press conference for the Mohammed VI International Athletics Meeting in Rabat was held this morning at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex. Read what the athletes present had to say:
Soufiane EL BAKKALI - 3,000M SC :
My objective is clear: to achieve the same records as last year in my home town, where the atmosphere is excellent. With the introduction of wavelight technology, you can expect anything and i'm up against the strongest athletes. I won the record at last year's meeting in Rabat, so that bodes well for the future.
Jakob INGEBRIGTSEN - 1,500M:
My aim is to keep improving, to run faster and see what happens. Everyone's always trying to do their best, and I've been immersed in this atmosphere for years now. As you know, I'm very competitive, and that's what drives me to keep racing against the best in the world. The goal of all the runners is to reach the world record held by El Guerrouj, and I'll do my best to win it.
Yaroslava MAHUCHIKH - High Jump:
It's great to be back in Rabat, it's a beautiful city with great people. I always prove myself in a competition and tomorrow I'll be showing that again here. Tomorrow will be an interesting competition and here I represent the values of my people.
Grant HOLLOWAY - 110M H :
Training is going well, I'm healthy and happy... these factors are making me progress. I'm not afraid of anyone, I've been with these guys before, I'm a man who's only afraid of God. Everyone knows my goal, we're going to use Rabat as a big pillar, I can't wait for tomorrow.
Shericka JACKSON - 200M :
The 200 metres is my favourite discipline and I can't wait to race tomorrow. It's cold, but once I've warmed up, I'll be on top form.
Ferdinand OMANYALA - 100M:
We're going for victory here, I'm excited and it's a great feeling. This kind of organisation thrills me. We're in Africa and we hope that the fans and the crowds will be there. I don't care about the competitors, there's no pressure, I just want to win.
